Los Angeles Women's International Film Festival produced by Alliance of Wonmen Filmmakers has showcased hundreds of films made by women of diverse backgrounds from all over the world. AWF has established a network of women filmmakers worldwide and studio executives who share the same passion for creating opportunities and powerful screen images of women.
The festival presents narratives, documentaries, animations and student short films made by women from around the world. Alliance of Women Filmmakers has partnered with women resource groups at major studios including, Warnerbros., Universal, and Sony to provide filmmakers with access to resources and opportunities from studio executives. All submitters will receive a festival pass regardless of acceptance that includes admissions to all screenings and panels.
Past panels and workshop hosted by Women of Warner included; "Women Who Run the Show" which featured women content creators behind hit WBTV and DC shows Arrow, Blindspot and Riverdale,Tuning into the Business of Music for Film” moderated by Lisa Margolis, Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, Music, Warner Bros. Pictures Financing Your Film; "Gender in Media Research: presented by Madeline Di Nonno, CEO of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media and “Taking Your Film to the Marketplace: the Path to Distribution” moderated by Natalie Rodriquez, Associate General Counsel, Warner Bros. Pictures.
The festival now going into its' fifteenth year to continues to provide resources and networking opportunities that empower filmmakers, to created strong images of women in film.
