Alliance of Women Filmmakers Announces #LAWomens DocFest Program Line Up
#Lawomensfest, first burst on the scene in 2005 and was hailed as “A must attend event for all women in the entertainment industry” (Backstage). 2019 marked the festival’s 15th annual year serving as a platform for women filmmakers to share their unique stories with Los Angeles’ diverse audience. Since the festival’s inception, Alliance of Women Filmmakers has programmed award-winning documentary films including Oscar-nominated God Sleeps in Rwanda about women affected by the Rwandan genocide and 2018’s Emmy nominated web series “Wonder Women a six-part, true-life series about ordinary women challenging themselves to do extraordinary things. Their Doc festival has an incredible line-up including; an episode from series “Fundamental: Women’s Rights in a Volatile World”. A documentary film series from two-time academy award-winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy and Global Fund for Women.
